5 Oct 2007 - New Mums Club
October 2007 sees the launch of New Mums Club: a monthly group with a difference for mums with bumps and young babies.
New mums in many parts of Bristol are no longer offered post natal classes and there?s frequently very little support, or opportunity to meet other mums with young babies.
New Mums Club aims to provide a relaxed and supportive environment for mums with young babies to come along and meet other mums.
Every month there will be a speaker and/or demonstrations of mum and baby-focussed subjects including, local children?s activities, weaning, flexible working and much more.
The subject at October?s meeting will be complementary health. Two local clinics will be coming along to do short presentations and taster sessions for those mums who want to be involved!
There will also be a small number of local ?mumpreneurs? , giving mums the opportunity to get advice on real nappies and baby equipment, and also browse and buy products including greetings cards, children?s books, baby gifts, and even have their baby?s hand or footprint printed on to a piece of pottery.
New Mums Club is the brainchild of Rachel Woollatt, Angela Jones and Caroline Sparks. All three are mums with young children who run small businesses in Bristol, but recognised the need for more support and information amongst new mums.
New Mums Club is held on the first Friday of every month at Newman Hall, Grange Court Road, Westbury on Trym, Bristol. There?s plenty of free parking and level access for buggies. It costs just £4 per mum and includes fairtade tea and coffee and an ample slice of homemade cake.
