7 Good reasons

 for becoming an NCT

Volunteer

Vacancies currently available

As we are a charity we depend on the volunteers to run the Bristol Branch. The Bristol committee is fairly young, not in age but in length of service. We are friendly, approachable and from all various backgrounds across the city.

We always welcome any help with the committee, fund raising and nearly new sales. If you would like to help out please read on....

1.  Use your existing skills to benefit the work of the NCT.

2.  Volunteering will give you the opportunity to network and meet new           interesting people.

3.  Being an NCT volunteer is fun.

4.  Your contribution as a volunteer will make things better for families in the future.

5.  Being a volunteer gives you the opportunity to give something back to the NCT.

6.  Being a volunteer will give you the opportunity to benefit from NCT training and develop new skills.

7.  Become a volunteer because we need you and the unique skills you can bring to a charity that helps all parents have a better experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

What do we get out of being a volunteer?

"I had been a member of the NCT since my pregnancy and saw the ad to work for the newsletter. Being interested, career-wise, in parenting issues and writing, I thought it sounded like a great opportunity.

Through working for the NCT I have developed DTP skills as well as learning about so many aspects of the NCT and how they are run. It has kept my CV ticking over very nicely, has opened up various work opportunities for me."

Elspeth Pontin, Website Editor and former Newsletter Editor

"I was introduced to the NCT through open house meetings. I really enjoy my position because its clerical, allowing me to organise the adverts using the computer and talking to local businesses. I have made lots of new friends all over Bristol"

Katie Watts, Former Advertising Secretary for the Newsletter
