How much does the course cost?

The cost of the course is £159 which breaks down as £120 for the course and £39 for one year?s membership of the NCT.  You do not have to be a member to attend a course.  If you do not wish to join then the cost is just £120. There is no need to send payment until such time as we are able to confirm your place on a course.

Have I got a place on a course/which course am I on?

Please be patient!  You will be informed of your course as soon as possible, but please remember that it may not be until one or two months before your due date.  Teachers and venues need to be confirmed before course places can be offered.

How many people are there in a class?

Class sizes vary depending on the venue.  There may be between six and eight couples in a class.  Very rarely a weekend class is taught by two teachers, and the class may then have up to 12 couples.

Can my partner come too?

Of course!  You may bring a husband, partner, birthing partner or friend with you.

Where do the courses take place?

We are currently using teachers from Bristol, North Somerset and Bath so venues for Bristol courses are in several different areas including : Stoke Bishop, St Werburghs, Butcombe (near the airport), Redland, Bishopston and Cotham.  They may be at the teacher?s home, in a village hall, nursery or hospital.

Will everyone be from my area of Bristol?

Unfortunately because of the limited number of places available, we are not able to group people according to area.

How can I meet other pregnant couples/new parents from my local area?

NCT holds regular ?open house? mornings or afternoons in many areas of Bristol.  These are an ideal opportunity to meet others from your area.  If you would like to know more, please email Nicola Farthing at Nicola@thefarthings.org.
